Youth Ministries calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos of adolescence and walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministries is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation.
In the Diocese of Hawai'i, youth programs are run by the individual congregations although there are opportunities for activities on the diocesan, provincial and national level.
In 2019, Camp Mokule'ia and their enthusiastic staff were given oversight of youth ministries on a Diocesan level.
Nationally & World-wide
The Episcopal Church strives to walk with young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world. The Youth Ministries Office is grounded in the Five Marks of Mission and the Baptismal Covenant, building churchwide networks to invite, inspire, affirm, and equip youth for discipleship and Christian leadership in their lives and their communities. SUMMER CAMP 2023
"At camp, we aim to help the keiki and youth grow in all aspects of themselves and they sure did!" said Lynea. "With nearly 250 campers this summer, each week brought joy, laughter, personal and social growth, and memories to last a lifetime!"
This year's summer program saw a nearly 40% increase in participants over last year, a good sign that we are recovering from the damaging effects of the pandemic. READ MORE
