The Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi has two scholarship funds available for students. The eligibility criteria, application requirements, and award process are described further below. The scholarship application period occurs during the first quarter of the year and announcements made in the Diocese's online news, The Hawaiian Church Chronicle.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
BISHOP'S SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Active baptized members in good standing of an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Hawai‘i as attested by a letter from the congregation’s Rector/Vicar/Priest-in-Charge (or Senior/Bishop’s Warden if there is no Priest).
Entering an Episcopal Church-related school in the Diocese of Hawai‘i for the first time (scholarships can be renewed for a second year).
Limited to entering kindergarten to grade 12.
THE CHANG CLERGY CHILDREN'S SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Rt. Rev. Richard S. O. Chang, fourth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i, established The Chang Clergy Children's Fund that will provide scholarship grants to children of clergy serving in the Diocese. To learn more about Bishop Chang and this scholarship, click HERE.
The children of clergy under the age of 24 who are canonically resident and domiciled in the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai‘i or the children of deceased clergy who met such criteria at the time of their deaths.
Entering pre-school, kindergarten to grade 12 and college/vocational school with preference given in the following order: (1) K to 12, (2) pre-school, and (3) college or vocational school (enrolled full-time). Additional preference is given to students attending schools or colleges related to the Episcopal Church.
Application Process:
Please provide the following as ONE PACKET.
Completed Scholarship Award Application.
Letter from a parent/guardian requesting a scholarship.
Letter from the child (if entering grade 4 or higher) requesting the scholarship and sharing something about what the child enjoys and hopes for the future.
Letter from the student’s Priest for the Bishop’s Scholarship.
Proof of the child’s admission to or attendance in a school.
A copy of the parents’/guardians’ Parents' Financial Statement (PFS), Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or other financial disclosure form for school.
Awards Process:
Scholarships will be awarded by the Bishop in consultation with the President of Standing Committee and/or the Treasurer of the Diocese.
Parents/students will be notified in April, and awards will be mailed directly to the school the student will be entering for grades pre-K to 12 and directly to the student for college and vocational school students.
