GOVERNANCE: DIOCESAN COUNCIL

The Diocesan Council meets on the third Saturday of each month.

Purpose of Diocesan Council

Exercises the power of the Convention and performs planning and policy making between meetings of Convention. Oversees the policies, programs, mission, and budget of the Diocese and may initiate new work. Also is the legal corporate body of the Episcopal Church in Hawai‘i and, as such, is responsible for the business and property of the Church.

LISTENING TEAM: During 2021-2023, three members from Diocesan Council formed the Listening Team to "provide a grace-filled space to 'listen' and discover emerging concerns and innovative ideas, as well as celebrate joyful successes around the Diocese, especially during critical times triggered by the pandemic." Commission on Finance

The Commission on Finance reports to Diocesan Council. Commission on Finance shall have responsibility for the corporate and financial needs of The Episcopal Church in Hawai‘i including financial oversight, and budget formation. The members are:

Commission on Investments

The Commission on Investments reports to Diocesan Council. The focus is on the review and oversight of the investment endowment portfolio of The Episcopal Church in Hawaii'i. The members are:

Commission on Property

The Commission on Property reports to Diocesan Council. Commission on Property shall have responsibility for oversight of property issues of The Episcopal Church in Hawai‘i, including, but not limited to, insurance, contracts, leases and licenses.
