Honoring
The Rev. Canon David Kennedy

Picture
This 75th Anniversary celebration will honor the Rev. Canon David Kennedy, whose father, the Right Rev. Harry Kennedy, Bishop of The Episcopal Church in Hawai'i, founded camp Mokule'ia.  As a teenager, David had the distinction of being one of the first campers at Camp Mokule'ia in 1947.  In 2016, he became Camp Mokule'ia's Board Chair, bringing a long and loving perspective to the task.

Kapuakukui:
The flowers of the kukui tree

Picture
Kukui is a sign of enlightenment both in education and spirituality. Pua (flower) is symbolic of children. The white flowers get scattered in the wind at Mokule'ia, namely Hinakokea, a steady and constant wind. The children enjoy positive experiences at Camp Mokule'ia and take those experiences with them to be scattered across Hawai'i and beyond.

Proceeds from this event benefit Camp Mokule'ia's mission.
