MEET THE CANDIDATES!
The Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i, is pleased to announce the preliminary slate of three candidate finalists presented for election of the Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Hawai'i. We are immensely grateful to all members of the Search Committee who have worked tirelessly to screen and select these candidates.
We have now entered into the "nomination by petition" period which lasts for seven days.
During the nomination by petition period, (explain process-- Bishop/Chuck to provide, include Resolution).....
Once the nomination by petition period ends, the final slate of candidates will be announced.
Candidates presented here have agreed to stand for election, and we are grateful for their willingness to continue to discern this holy call. We are thrilled that these candidates bring particular gifts and experiences to our Diocese. They represent a variety of approaches to inclusive leadership, knowledge of institutional complexity, various expressions of Anglican spirituality, a spiritual maturity and strengths in cultural competency which were areas that our Diocese identified as essential for our next bishop.
Going forward, the Transitions Committee will take over the coordination and planning of events and activities related to the Bishop search and transition. The Standing Committee will continue oversight over the whole process.
