The Diocese of Hawai'i will be holding its annual Clergy Conference on August 25-27, at the Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo, Big Island. All clergy in the Diocese are invited to attend!

Guest Speaker The Rev. Canon Charles "Chuck" Robertson

 We are delighted to have as our guest speaker, the Rev. Canon C. K. Robertson, Ph.D., who has served for many years as Canon to the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church as well as Distinguished Visiting Professor at General Theological Seminary. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the development board of Durham University, Chuck previously served on the governing board of the National Council of Churches USA, and was vice president of the board of the Anglican Theological Review and guest editor of several ATR issues, as well as General Editor of Peter Lang Publishing’s “Studies in Episcopal & Anglican Theology” series. He holds honorary doctorates and canonships from several institutions, and has authored or edited over a dozen books and many journal articles. 

"[Chuck] has a unique perspective to help clergy understanding of the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church at this point in history. Further, he's worked with many bishops and now three Presiding Bishops, and has a special insight into the episcopate. He can help the clergy of our Diocese understand the unique role of Hawai'i within the Episcopal Church, keeping an eye to Asia and the Pacific, and the impact that might have on our prayer and rumination in electing the next bishop." ~ Bishop Robert Fitzpatrick

The conference will be taking place at the Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo, where we have secured group room rates.  For those who wish to extend their trips either before or after the conference, you will have to book those dates separately.

The Diocese will cover interisland air travel expenses for clergy attending the conference from neighbor islands.  All covered flights must be booked through the Diocesan Travel Coordinator. Please click HERE for travel procedures.  When you have all your travel and personal information ready, you can submit the Air Travel Request online form HERE.
