2011 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE)

In discerning a collect for EYE, the worship team drew upon the liturgical resources of the church including The Book of Common Prayer and A New Zealand Prayer Book, to develop a familiar foundation that is universal to many.  Using this foundation, the collect was created by incoporating not only the themes and goals of EYE, but the themes and goals of the Episcopal Church as well.

Collect for Episcopal Youth Event 2011:

Gracious and Loving God, you declare your glory and show forth your creation in the heavens and the earth.  Deliver us from the service of self, that we may build upon the work you give us to do in truth and beauty; that we may share your love with others and fulfill your mission, for the sake of Him who came among us as servant, your son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
