Rev. Russell is the author of Hooker's Blueprint, that takes the "Laws of Ecclesiastical Polity", a very important and difficult piece of theological text of Anglicanism by Richard Hooker, and extracts and summarizes the key ideas into an understandable format.

Transforming Stewardship in Your Parish
The Rev. Laurel Johnston, the national Program Officer for Stewardship, will be leading a workshop on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at St. Andrew's Cathedral, Honolulu, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Rev. Johnston will demonstrate how stewardship is central to a Christian life and how to build on this core understanding to develop high-commitment congregations. Participants will learn the best practices that infuse the spirituality of stewardship into the life of the parish.

Presbyter's Day: A meeting of the priests of the Diocese of Hawai'i
The semiannual meeting of the priests of the Diocese will be taking place on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Honolulu, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The program will be on communication, led by Dr. Kahu Kaleo Patterson, President of the Pacific Justice and Reconciliation Center. AHAHUI MAKANA HO'OLINA O KA KO'IKE ULU:
Have you remembered an Episcopal ministry (church, program etc.) in your estate plans? If so, you are a member of the Diocese's Ho'ike Ulu Legacy Society. Their first event of the year takes place on Maui, Saturday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m.
Episcopal Youth Event: 2011
The 2011 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) is coming up on June 22 - 26, at Bethel University in Minnesota. Twenty-four youth and six chaperones will be representing the Diocese of Hawai'i at this triannual event, and will head north for the mission portion of their trip at the Mary Brown Environmental Learning Center through June 30. Bishop Bob Fitzpatrick will also be at the conference. The following Collect for Episcopal Youth Event 2011, was composed by members of the Worship Team, for congregations to use as a method to offer prayers for EYE planners, registrants, bishops, and all involved in this sacred gathering of our church's youth.

10th Anniversary Celebration of Full Communion:
The leaders of the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Church of Canada, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America have issued a Pastoral Letter for the May 1 celebration marking the 10th Anniversary of full communion.
"We look forward to the development of fuller relationships that will lead to a common mission, ministry, and witness in the world."
Presiding Bishop's 2011 Easter Message
Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori says in her 2011 Easter Message, "We give thanks for the Resurrection, and we become part of Jesus' ongoing work, as we become aware of its power in our own lives."
Chrism Mass & Theology Day
The annual Chrism Mass and Theology Continuing Education Day for clergy and those in the ordination process, will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Parish of St. Clement in Honolulu.
The Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney will be the speaker of the Day.
ERD - Japan Earthquake Response Fund
Episcopal Relief & Development is supporting the rescue and relief efforts of the Nippon Sei Ko Kei (NSKK; the Anglican-Episcopal church in Japan) following the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami that struck Japan on March 11th.
UTO In-Gathering Spring 2011
Sunday, March 13, 2011 is the suggested date for the spring in-gathering of donations to the United Thank Offering (UTO).
UTO donations are collected throughout The Episcopal Church and then go to fund special projects through UTO grants. The UTO addresses compelling human need through grants to projects that alleviate poverty, both domestically and internationally, within the Anglican provinces, dioceses, and companion dioceses.
