Deadline for ECW Specials

The Christian Social Relations Committee of the Diocesan Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is now accepting applications from programs that want to be considered as a “Special.”

Requests for financial assistance (ECW Specials) for 2010–2011 are due on or before July l5, 2010.

Requests should be sent by letter and include the following information:
  • Name of organization, including a brief description of background and services.
  • Purpose of the request.
  • Specific amount of financial assistance requested with a financial statement for the past year.
  • Other available funding already received.

Letters of request should be sent to Annette Jim, Chair of the ECW Christian Social Relations Committee, 2812 -A Puuhonua St., Honolulu, Hawaii 96822.

Requests will be prayerfully considered by the Christian Social Relations Committee. At the ECW Annual Meeting in September, Churches and individuals pledge funds to the support of the “Specials.”

For projects selected as ECW Specials, a representative of the organization makes a 5-7 minute presentation about the program and information as to how the funds will be used. This allows the delegates to make informed choices.

The Bishop's Pastoral Fund is a permanent annual ECW Special. Two other projects are selected as ECW Specials.

Currently, the ECW Specials support the Bishop’s Pastoral Fund, Good Samaritan Church for the I Can With Good Sam Youth Group, and Friends of Sabeel, North America (FOSNA), Hawaii Chapter, to defray costs for a regional conference held in Honolulu in February 2010.
