LEARN ABOUT CONGREGATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ON THE ISLAND OF KAUA'I!

Net: How Real Churches Really Grow

imageSt. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihue, Kaua'i, one of the fastest growing churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i, will host a congregational development conference on February 7 - 9, 2012.  Titled "Net: How Real Churches Really Grow", and based on the forthcoming book by the same name by St. Michael's rector, the Rev. William Miller, the 3-day conference is designed for all lay people, church and diocesan leaders or staff, and clergy.

Participants will learn vital church growth lessons based on the metaphor of the ancient Hawaiian method of Hukilau fishing.  The conference consists of six sessions, two each morning, with afternoons free to explore the beautiful island of Kaua'i.  There will be opportunities to apply the principles to particular congregations represented.  The workshop is part of a week of activities at St. Michael's, dedicated to creative liturgy and church growth.  The weekend before the conference, St. Michael's will host the 6th Annual All Angels Jazz Festival.  For more information, go to www.stmichaels-kauai.org, or email Father Bill.

"As a bishop of the church, I wish I could clone Bill Miller!  Bill has an amazng gift of intuition, of assessing the context and ethos of a congregation, and then bringing out the best of that in order to share the Good News of Christ with the world.  Bill was an early mentor for me, and I will be forever grateful, not only for the wisdom he shared, but also the energy and enthusiasm he brings to his ministry and to the congregations he serves.  Bring him to share it with you; you will not be disappointed!" - The Rt. Rev. Greg Rickel, Bishop of Olympia
